    Description

    Our client, a specialty chemical production company who has been around for over 40 years in Metro Detroit is in need of adding TWO Quality Control Chemist to their growing team. They manufacture non automotive and automotive chemicals and need to add two Quality Control Chemists to focus on the wet chemistry testing of both their raw materials along with finished products. We have one opening on the 1st shift and one opening on the 2nd shift. Training IS provided.

    1st shift = 5:00am - 1:30pm, Mon-Fri, during their busy season in the summer over time on the weekend will be required

    2nd shift. = 2:00pm - 10:30pm, Mon-Fri, during their busy season in the summer over time on the weekend will be required

    Daily duties:

    • Perform In-Process testing on blended batches (pH, viscosity & titrations)
    • Perform Quality Control testing on finished products and Raw Material (pH, viscosity & titrations)
    • Maintain Raw Material COAs (certificate of analysis).
    • Help make test batches of new/changed formulas for testing.
    • Maintain Housekeeping of the lab.
    • Documenting lab results and making additional copies to give to inventory.

    Requirement:

    • Bachelors of Science in Chemistry -OR- an Associate of Science in Chemisty or otherscience disciplines chemistry courses to be hands on with wet chemistry such as titrations, pH, and viscosity -OR- 3+ years of quality control wet chemistry testing in a manufacturing quality control lab setting
    • Able to work over time as needed
