    Description

    Our client, a specialty chemical production company who has been around for over 40 years in Metro Detroit is in need of adding a Quality Control Chemist to their growing team. They manufacture non-automotive and automotive chemicals and need to add a Quality Control Chemists to focus on the wet chemistry testing of both their raw materials along with finished products (pH, titrations & viscosity). Training IS provided.

    2nd shift. = 2:00pm - 10:30pm, Mon-Fri, during their busy season in the summer over time on the weekend will be required

    Daily duties:

    • Perform In-Process testing on blended batches (pH, viscosity & titrations)
    • Perform Quality Control testing on finished products and Raw Material (pH, viscosity & titrations)
    • Maintain Raw Material COAs (certificate of analysis).
    • Help make test batches of new/changed formulas for testing.
    • Maintain Housekeeping of the lab.
    • Documenting lab results and making additional copies to give to inventory.

    Requirement:

    • Bachelor of Science in Chemistry -OR- an Associate of Science in Chemistry or other science disciplines chemistry courses to be hands on with wet chemistry such as titrations, pH, and viscosity -OR- 3+ years of quality control wet chemistry testing in a manufacturing quality control lab setting
    • Able to work over time as needed
