    Nursing Education Coordinator

    Full Time, 36 hours a week

    Job Overview:

    The Nursing Education Coordinator will carry out educational, administrative, and leadership responsibilities required to ensure new nursing staff at Jordan Valley have a successful clinical onboarding experience. The Nursing Education Coordinator will also have responsibilities in facilitating relevant continuing education and skill-building experiences for established nursing staff.

    Duties:

    • Facilitate appropriate classroom and clinical learning experiences to ensure MA apprentices are adequately prepared to transition into a full-time MA role at Jordan Valley.
    • Provide appropriate related technical instruction to ensure MA apprentices have an adequate base of knowledge to pass the NHA CCMA credentialing exam.
    • Coordinate with Jordan Valley medical and operational staff to ensure all new nursing staff have adequate opportunities to achieve and/or demonstrate competency in appropriate departmental clinical competencies.
    • Communicate with Jordan Valley medical and operational staff to ensure positive apprentice-preceptor interactions.
    • Communicate with Jordan Valley medical and operational staff to perform an annual review of departmental clinical competency checklists to be used in training new nursing staff.
    • Conduct interviews and select candidates for incoming MA apprenticeship cohorts.
    • Participate in the interview and selection process for other new nursing staff, as requested.
    • Perform day-to-day supervisory duties for MA apprentices and Nurse Educator (including, but not limited to, checking hours worked, approving PTO, completing evaluations, resolving concerns and conflicts, delivering corrective actions).
    • Provide instruction and/or oversee skills competency check off for JV staff using medical simulators.
    • Collaborate with Executive Director of Educational Programs, other training coordinators, and advisory committee members to inform the oversight and strategic vision of the Educational department.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Associate's degree in nursing or a related field.
    • Current BLS Certification required within 90 days of hire.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Minimum 3 years clinical experience; experience in ambulatory clinical setting preferred.
    • Current active MA credential, current active LPN or RN license.
    • Bachelor's degree in nursing or a related field.
    • Experience serving as a preceptor or mentor to clinical student.
    • Some classroom instructor experience.
    • Current BLS Instructor Certification.
