Vocational Credit / Skills Recovery - Health Assisting Teacher (1 position)

$50.00/hour Working with Students,
$29.10 Prep Time

Teachers are required to attend mandatory training with Summer Coordinator

Program Coordinator Staff Meeting:
Date to be selected by Coordinator.


Communicated and facilitated by School Program Coordinator-Coordinator is responsible to train Summer School Staff on selected curriculum and summer expectations.


DUTIES:


  • Responsible to the building Principal or Designee;
  • Keep student attendance records in Power Teacher (Summer) and follow up with absenteeism;
  • Provide timely information to families and students;
  • Implement pre
- and post-tests;

  • Help students build and enhance skills in the extended instructional time curriculum;
  • Meet and instruct assigned classes in the locations and at times designated;
  • Plan a program of study that, as much as possible, meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students;
  • Provide lesson plans to program supervisor in advance;
  • Provide progress reports and final reports to School Program Coordinator by the deadline;
  • Support the implementation of PBIS where applicable.

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Presently employed as an After Dark Health Assisting teacher for Springfield Public Schools
  • Citizenship, residency, or work VISA in United States required.
  • Experience in communicating effectively with parents.
  • Knowledge in the goals and requirements of the Common Core and State Curriculum Frameworks and Assessments
  • Experience working in collaboration with administrators and teachers.
  • Extraordinary organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Preference given to Special Education, ESL, SEI endorsed, and Category trained teachers.
  • Availability required for entire program work schedule.
  • Secured position for school year
  • Must hold a valid and current Department of Elementary and Secondary Education educator license, Bachelor's degree with appropriate license or master's degree with appropriate content area.
