    Summary:
    Citizens, Inc. is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our accounting team.

    The right candidate will possess high attention to detail and the ability to interact with all levels of staff and management.


    WHAT YOU WILL GET TO DO

    • Accounts Payable Processing:
    • Process and code daily disbursements
    • Verify amounts owed
    • Maintain and reconcile accounts payable ledger accounts
    • Update vendor records in Oracle
    • Assist in reconciliation of accounts payable
    • Review payment activity for anomalies
    • Perform payment reversals, rejects, and returns
    • Respond to vendor inquiries on payment status
    • Financial Reporting and Analysis:
    • Prepare reports of delinquent accounts
    • Review and process commissions reports
    • Review commissions payments for accuracy
    • Research and document cash posting transaction issues
    • Assist with 1099 reporting
    • Cash Management and Banking:
    • Perform check runs, wires, and ACH payments
    • Process wires and transfers within the banking system
    • Support cash management initiatives
    • Track payment processor issues
    • Support bank account administration activities
    • General Administrative Duties:
    • Cross-train with other areas of the department
    • Perform other job-related duties and projects as needed
    • Support Senior AP/Payroll Specialist and AP/Payroll Manager as needed
    • Basic subset of payroll processing
    • Skills and Abilities:
    • Ensure accuracy, control, and appropriate authorizations
    • Meet critical business deadlines

    • Address issues/concerns professionally
    • Collaborate effectively with stakeholders

    WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED [Qualifications; see examples below]


    • 1-2 years of Accounts Payable experience
    • Working knowledge of disbursement functions related to checks, wires and ACH
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
    • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate and escalate issues to management.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • General Accounting office experience preferred
