    Job Description

    Icahn Charter School is seeking highly-qualified teachers to work at the middle school-level. We are currently looking for ELA. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong competence in the following areas, as well as meet our qualification benchmarks.

    Responsibilities:

    • An unwavering belief that ALL students can and will achieve a high level of success
    • Strong work ethic and commitment to raising student performance
    • Investment in elevating pedagogical practices
    • Capacity to personalize learning for all children
    • Ability to work collaboratively; team player mentality
    • Awareness and respect for diversity of cultural backgrounds and lifestyles
    • Knowledge and background related to NYS Learning Standards

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree
    • Master's degree (preferred)
    • NYS Certification in Content Specific Area (Grades 5-9 or 7-12) or Generalist Certification
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
    • Teaching experience
