The Work

The selected candidate will be part of the production programs support group within the Accelerated Materials & Product Development team.

They will be mentored by senior level engineers to become the primary POC responsible for supporting multiple programs within the Launchers Portfolio including Vertical Launching System and Mid Range Capability.

This position will require that the selected engineer leverage a solid foundation in the chemistry and/or material science field in order to make critical decisions related to day to day production floor issues.

This individual will work closely with Operations, Hardware Engineering, Quality, Subcontracts and external vendors to ensure production continues to operate efficiently.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree in Materials or Chemical Engineering with 23 years professional engineering experience.
Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
Ability to work independently once direction is given.
Strong organizational skills
Strong communication skills

- must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance at the SECRET level. Requires US citizenship.

Desired Skills:

Experience with Vertical Launching System (VLS) or Mid Range Capability (MRC) very desired.
Experience with production programs and the production follow role desired
Experience with customer interaction and composure in making difficult decisions.

Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Clearance Level: Secret

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
