World Language Institute
Middlesex Community College is seeking a passionate and dedicated Swahili Instructor to join our World Languages Institute. This role is ideal for someone who is enthusiastic about teaching and promoting cultural understanding. The instructor will be responsible for teaching Swahili language courses ranging from beginner to advanced levels.
Teach Swahili language classes to students of diverse backgrounds and learning styles.
Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students' varying needs and interests.
Organize cultural activities and language workshops to enhance the learning experience.
Bachelor's degree in Education, Linguistics, African Studies, or a related field;
Fluency in Swahili and English, both spoken and written.
Prior teaching experience in a similar role is highly desirable.
Strong understanding of language teaching pedagogies and methodologies.
Experience with equity-minded work and/or understanding of individuals of diverse identities such as race, ethnicity, socioeconomic level, sexual orientation, veterans, and individuals with different academic preparation levels and varying physical and learning abilities.
Master's Degree in Education, Linguistics, African Studies, or a related fieldSalary Range:
DCE Adjunct Faculty are paid in accordance with the DCE Step Levels provided in the Collective Bargaining Agreement
Location:
Lowell campus with occasional travel to Bedford as needed
