SUMMARY


The Fitzpatrick Collaborative is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization whose mission is to preserve and manage Pepperell's historic Fitzpatrick building for community use, offer community programs and special events, provide short-term space rentals to community members, and lease space to long-term tenants who align with our mission.


We are seeking a Community Programs Administrator to oversee the planning, development, organization, and implementation of a variety of self-supporting, accessible, safe, recreational and leisure activities, programs, classes, and events (collectively, "programs") that serve the diverse community of Pepperell and surrounding towns.


POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develops, implements, and administers youth and adult programs; evaluates programs and takes appropriate actions to improve or enhance them. Registers program participants and collects fees.
  • Administers and negotiates partnership contracts and agreements with various recreation, arts, and youth serving organizations and instructors.
  • Recruits and selects instructors, counselors, and other personnel. Provides supervision, guidance, training, and evaluation of staff.
  • Maintains catalog of online programs.
  • Manages and maintains daytoday financial operations of programs including program revenues and expenditures, vendor fees and charges, purchasing, preparation of budget estimates, and keeping of appropriate records.
  • Serve as a point of contact for all programs, instructors, and customers. Including managing instructor expectations, customer expectations, communicating with customers, handling parent concerns and communicating with the board of directors.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years experience working with children in an educational, care, or recreational setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform most, if not all, of the above duties.
  • Proven ability to develop successful operational processes and procedures, preferably in the context of children/youth programs and/or summer camps.
  • Proven supervisory experience.
  • Excellent problem solving and organizational skills; able to manage both details and the bigger picture.
  • Ability to successfully complete background checks, including CORI, SORI, drug screening, and fingerprinting.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree required. Masters Degree with coursework in parks and recreation management helpful, and at least five (5) years direct responsibility for developing and supervising recreation activities and programs or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Expert knowledge of the principles and practices of activity and program planning and development.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively supervise and manage volunteers and contracted instructors.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing to a diverse population.
  • Financial management skills. Ability to collect, maintain and present program and department financial records, transactions and reporting.
  • Demonstrated ability to market programs and ideas, and the planning, management, organizational, and supervisory skills to execute.
  • Ability to develop and implement comprehensive recreational programming; learn the applicable laws, ordinances, and regulations governing activities.

Pay:
From $23.50 per hour
