    Job Purpose:

    Responsible for providing bid estimates and proposals for Building Automation projects. Managing long term customer relationships with mechanical contractors, MEP consultants, and building owners to secure new construction opportunities.

    What You'll Be Doing:

    • Presenting BCI's experiences to end users, contractors, and engineers
    • Identifying customer needs and adapting products/services accordingly
    • Producing project estimates based on plans and specifications
    • Conducting facility walk-throughs to offer solutions and estimates
    • Collaborating with prime contractors and subcontractors
    • Influencing specifications with consulting engineers
    • Contributing to sales engineering effectiveness by addressing issues and recommending solutions
    • Creating detailed proposals and negotiating bids
    • Meeting/exceeding sales goals
    • Preparing competitive and timely estimates and proposals
    • Developing customer accounts and identifying new opportunities

    Personal Skills and Experience You'll Need

    Technical skills and education:

    • Three years' experience in building automation and controls, estimating or control technician
    • Ability to develop credible estimates and proposals
    • Knowledge of construction documents and processes
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

    Personal and organizational skills include:

    • Problem-solving abilities and initiative for new sales opportunities
    • Effective communication skills with customers
    • Establishing rapport easily and projecting a professional image
    • Perseverance and customer service orientation
    • Strong organizational and analytical skills
    • Relationship management and decision-making skills
    • Bottom-line focused
