- Prepare detailed cost estimates and proposals for land surveying projects, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry standards
- Review project specifications, drawings, and other relevant documents to understand project requirements
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to obtain input and ensure accuracy of estimates.
- Participate in meetings with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to present estimates and discuss project requirements
- Attend industry networking events to develop client connections and promote BCSC
- Assist in the preparation of Request for Proposals (RFQs)
- Maintain accurate records of estimates, proposals, and project-related documentation for reference and audit purposes.
- A bachelor's or associate's degree in Civil Engineering, Land Surveying or related field and/or equivalent work experience in related field
- Valid driver's license with minimum 5 years driving experience
- Proven experience as a project estimator, preferably in the land surveying or construction industry
- Proficiency in estimating software and tools, such as Bluebeam is a plus
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to accurately interpret project specifications and drawings
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy and quality of work

About the position
BCSC is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Business Development Department as a Project Estimator in our Wilmington, NC office. The Project Estimator plays a crucial role in assessing project requirements, evaluating costs, and preparing accurate estimates/proposals for land surveying projects. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work directly with the Business Development Manager and contribute to the overall growth and success of our company.
