    Job Summary:

    We are seeking a Legal Assistant to work hybrid with our Managing Attorney based in Tampa, Florida. This role will provide legal support, with opportunity to take their legal career to the next level.

    Qualified candidates will have civil litigation and insurance defense experience, the ability to work independently, communicate effectively, and the ability to prioritize workload in a time sensitive environment.

    Job Responsibilities:

    · Assists attorney with the preparation of responses to discovery, including meeting with clients

    · Completes legal research at the attorney request

    · Sets up legal file jackets, as needed. Maintains summary of all records received by case, for attorneys and claims personnel

    · Assists in preparation of cases for trial. Sends discovery requests. Monitors compliance with discovery by all parties and prepares motions

    · Assists attorneys with investigation of cases. Obtains medical, insurance, employment and/or other documents/information, through record requests or subpoenas. Assists with the drafting of motions, briefs, and other documents.

    · Communicates with clients, claims adjusters, litigation specialists, attorneys' offices, medical provider offices, police departments, courts, and agents to request additional information/documentation as assigned.


    Qualifications:

    Required

  • Previous legal assistant experience, paralegal degree/certificate/certification, relevant coursework, or legal studies degree is required
  • 3+ years of civil litigation experience, preferably Insurance Defense or Personal Injury experience
  • · Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational and time management skills

    · Knowledge of law office management, time billing and legal research software preferred.
