    Job Description and Duties

    TELEWORK IS CURRENTLY AVAILABLE, HOWEVER, STAFF MAY BE REQUIRED TO REPORT TO THEIR ASSIGNED HEADQUARTERS AS BUSINESS NEEDS ARISE.

    The Research Data Specialist II (Specialist) acts as an expert in labor market analysis and independently performs a variety of research and data analysis. The Specialist leads activities on behalf of the division and department using EDD administrative data and external data sources (& Bradstreet) to respond to complex research and policy questions through the advanced use of various statistical software (SAS, R, Stata, Python, and Microsoft Excel).

    The Specialist also creates and maintains Labor Market Information (LMI) dashboards for the department and division websites using data visualization software (Tableau & Microsoft Power BI) to convert LMI data into graphical charts to identify trends an patterns.

    This position is headquartered in Sacramento and may be eligible for telework under EDD's telework policy. California Government Code Section 14200 requires employees to reside in California to telecommute. Employees are required to report to their headquarters office, as needed. Travel expenses to and from the assigned headquarters are the responsibility of the employee.
