Full-time, on-site, salary position, $70,000 - $90,000 DOE annually
Security Clearance Required

Position Summary:

The Network Engineer II will oversee the workflow involved in maintaining the RNEC-NCR network infrastructure (including the Installation Campus Area Network (ICAN).

Responsibilities include design and implementation of network infrastructure, resolving advanced support issues, and managing junior Network Engineering staff.

Essential Functions:

Supports the Government by performing a variety of broad network engineering tasks focused on the design, implementation, testing, and troubleshooting of the RNEC-NCR intricate network infrastructure (including the Installation Campus Area Network (ICAN).

Uses Remedy ticket submissions for work assignments responding to critical and VIP tickets within two (2) hours of notification by telephone or e-mail by appropriate Government authority.

Manages a Network Engineering staff composed of Intermediate and Junior Network Engineers

Minimum Qualifications:
A minimum of three (3) years' relevant experience is required for this position (See, Essential Functions' and 'Competencies' sections)
Bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering or its equivalent.
Must have IAT-II certification (Networking Environments) (See DoD 8570 IAT Certification and Requirements)

Must have excellent communication skills (oral and written) to adequately communicate inputs/guidance to Network Engineers, interact with the government customer and to accommodate possible interactions with senior government officials.

Required certifications are:
CompTIA Security+

Desired Qualifications:

Highly Preferred certifications are:

CompTIA A+, Comp TIA Network+, Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA), Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE, Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician (CCENT), Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) - Routing and Switching, Cisco Certified Network Professional Level (CCNP) - Routing and Switching and VMware Certified Professional.

Customer prefers candidates who demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of the communications networks and systems employed by the customer.
