The Network Engineer position in Information Technology is responsible for designing and/or planning for network enhancements; network capacity training; maintaining the existing network equipment (routers, switches, security devices, wireless controllers, access points, firewalls, etc); monitoring network systems for failure and performance anomalies; troubleshooting network issues independently and with network consultants; end-user support; and various systems reporting and scheduling duties.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology related field of study with a network engineering focus

Minimum of three years of relevant work experience in network engineering
Strong understanding of network infrastructure and network hardware
Ability to think through problems and visualize solutions
Ability to implement, administer, and troubleshoot network infrastructure devices, including wireless access points, firewalls, routers, switches, controllers
Knowledge of application transport and network infrastructure protocols
Ability to create accurate network diagrams and documentation for design and planning network communication systems
Ability to provide specific detailed information for hardware and software selection

Good analytical and problem-solving skills
Dependable and flexible when necessary
Network security experience
Ability to quickly learn new or unfamiliar technology and products using documentation and internet resources
Ability to work with all levels of staff within and outside of IT and outside the organization.

Work Hours
Monday – Sunday as needed
Minimum 40 hours per week.
