Role Overview:


The Supply Chain Manager will tactically and strategically manage the purchasing and inventory control functions within established guidelines and standards to produce the highest quality, lowest cost product in a safe and clean environment.

Utilize established inventory management procedures and supplier management programs, yielding the optimum balance of inventory to minimize costs while assuring customer service levels are met.

Develop and revise material schedules and coordinate the efficient interdepartmental movement of materials. Manage inventory levels, turns and accuracy. Interface with area leads and supervisors on the planning of customer orders to meet shipments.


This individual will provide consistent, fair, and timely feedback to team members through various channels, i.e., one on one opportunities, reviews, coaching, mentoring, and training in accordance with the company purpose, vision, and values.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Manage overall supply chain including supplier relationships, purchasing, inventory, and warehousing, managing any personnel in these functions.
  • Create and release purchase orders and jobs as necessary based on component availability, stock replenishment demand, and finished goods delivery schedule.
  • Work with regional and business unit supply chain team and leadership to ensure appropriate suppliers are used within the business.
  • Accountable for negotiations with suppliers regarding price, terms, quality, tooling and transportation.
  • Implement suitable material control systems and cycle count programs to ensure that appropriate stock levels are developed and maintained.
  • Partner with Production Supervisors and Leads in resolving BOM or Routing issues and accounting for and correcting any inventory inaccuracies.
  • Manage and develop a team of people ensuring adequate support and appropriate training is provided to advance their development within the organization.
  • In conjunction with manufacturing personnel, improve the production process by minimizing materials, lead times, cycle times, and scrap reduction.
  • Lead and participate in regional strategic procurement initiatives as required.
  • Continuously drive to improve all aspects of the department in line with Company goals and objectives.
  • Manage and maintain effective communication with all internal and external partners, such as suppliers, members of the Management team, Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality Assurance, and Customer Service.
  • Provide the General Manager and site leadership team regular reporting on challenges and issues.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Critical Competencies for Success:


  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 7+ years of experience in Supply Chain, including Procurement, Materials Management, Planning and Logistics with increased level of responsibility.
  • Must have direct experience in supply chain planning and procurement practices in a manufacturing environment.
  • APICS CSCP, CPIM preferred.
  • Selfmotivated, proactive individual capable of working as a member of a team, leading teams, and operating independently.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks.
  • Excellent negotiation skills.
  • High level of integrity.
  • Excellent presentation/facilitation, organizational, analytical, and written/oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, growthoriented and timecritical environment.
  • Basic Knowledge of engineering terms and standard engineering techniques.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook).
  • Knowledge and experience with ERP(s) is required.
