    Description

    Job Duties:
    Understand business processes, internal customer data needs and how to implement robust solutions into the overall data architecture. Design, build and manage data marts and data models to satisfy our growing data needs.

    Develops, maintains and optimizes scalable data pipelines at enterprise scale using Hadoop, AWS and SnowFlake and builds out new API integrations.

    Build data expertise and own data quality for various data flows. Launch and support new data models that provide intuitive analytics to internal customers. Design and develop new framework and automation tools to enable teams to consume and understand data faster. Use your expert coding skills across several languages like SQL, Python and Java to support analysts and data scientists. Interface with internal data consumers to understand data needs. Collaborate with multiple teams in high visibility roles and own the solution end to end. Utilizes experience with database system, data integration toolsets and programming skills to write and optimize ETL jobs. *May work remote (from home) when not reporting into the Dropbox Seattle location.

    Must possess expertise/knowledge sufficient to adequately perform the duties of the job being offered. Expertise/knowledge may be gained through employment experience or education. Such expertise/knowledge cannot be "quantified" by "time.

    " Required expertise/knowledge includes:

    Experience with dimensional data modeling, data warehousing and data architecture at enterprise scale; Experience with distributed big data solutions such as Hadoop Hive, Spark or AWS; Experience with data integration toolsets and building and maintaining ETL jobs; Experience with SQL, creating and tuning queries; Experience with Programing language(Java/Scala or related); Experience with a scripting language such as Python or Bash; Experience with at least one major database system (SQL Server, MySQL or Oracle); Experience with Cloud Data Warehousing solution such as Snowflake, Redshift; Ability to identify and communicate data driven insights.


    Education/Experience: 3-year foreign Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science or closely related field plus 5 (five) years of experience in the job offered or closely related occupation.

    In Seattle metro, the expected salary range for the role is $174,117-$213,900/ year.

    Several factors are considered to determine starting pay:
    job/level, location/metropolitan area, skillset, peer compensation.

    40 hours/week. If offered employment, must have legal right to work in U.S. EOE.
