    Description

    Summary



    This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command.

    It is in the PROFESSIONAL Work Category at the SENIOR Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. It is located in the DISA DISA - J6(GSVC)/ENDPOINT & CUSTOMER SVC DIR.



    Duties

    • As an IT Network Specialist in CESO, serves as lead specialist with responsibility to ensure effective, economical, and advanced technical management of customer networking requirements for assigned systems and applications.
    • Serves as the test expert on project teams that include project engineers, computer scientists, computer operators, and programmers.
    • Applies technical skill to include enterprise and local network architecture, infrastructure, standards, Wide Area Network (WAN)/Local Area Network (LAN) design, network diagnostic toolsets and techniques, and configuration management procedures.
    • Tests, installs, configures, and maintains networks, including hardware (servers, hubs, bridges, switches, and routers). Monitors network performance, analyzes network traffic patterns, and installs network fixes and upgrades.
    • Ensures the organization's network can provide a wide range of services that are vital to the accomplishment of mission requirements.
