****Job Description****
Danfoss is looking for a Strategic Buyer for the Power Solutions Global Procurement Organization to ensure that our suppliers deliver and improve on all parameters and, most importantly, on time. You will be responsible for a range of strategic procurement activities to ensure supplier performance and development on both short and long-term basis. In doing so, you will be working across several global functions and serve as the link between Supply Chain and external suppliers.
In this position, you need to use your excellent analytical and communication skills to be able to find compromises between multiple and sometimes conflicting interests.
****Job Responsibilities****
As our new Strategic Buyer, you will be responsible for a range of strategic procurement activities to ensure supplier performance and development on both short- and long-term basis. You will serve as the link between Supply Chain and external suppliers. You will be reporting to Procurement Manager, Robert Simmons, and be located at the Ames, IA plant with some flexibility for working remote. Your key responsibilities will be:
The first escalation point for supply and quality issues including documentation of supplier performance.
Driving capacity management towards suppliers.
Supporting the categories in monitoring forecast versus supplier capacities.
Coordinate ramp up and ramp down activities for sourcing projects.
Driving Supplier Logistic Agreements with our suppliers together with Supply Chain and Category.
Conducting supplier workshops together with Supply Chain to improve On time delivery.
To coordinate Production Parts Approval Process for changes and new projects.
Drive minor projects e.g. cost-down projects.
Monitor, maintain, update and report on price changes for suppliers.
Own and maintain supplier tooling database, incl. Input for budget.
****Background & Skills****
**The ideal candidate posses these skills**
Bachelors degree in Engineering or another relevant area.
Several years of experience in implementation of sourcing strategies for different spend categories.
Experience in one or more spend categories Sourcing, Planning or Purchasing (turned parts, raw materials, castings, coils, rubber, etc.) is an advantage.
Experience in negotiation is an advantage.
Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
Technical experience with processes within machining and electronics.
Experience in Problem-solving tools.
Experience in SAP/MFGPro and Office package (Excel, PowerPoint).
Fluent in written and spoken English.
As a person you can work in multitasking and a multi-cultural environment. You are a dedicated, goal-oriented person who work with a strong sense of urgency.
