- Provides consultative and collaborative support to IT in all areas of human resources, including integrated talent management, organizational design and efficiency, compensation planning, employee relations and policy interpretation and administration.
- Supports the talent management strategy through consulting and partnering with COEs for all talent needs such as recruiting and selection, culture and engagement, talent review, training, and development needs for all employees (including management), strategic workforce planning, and total rewards.
- Ensures strong communication, execution, and delivery of all talent strategies throughout the assigned area.
- Work with department head to develop and/or support succession and development plans.
- In conjunction and consultation with assigned business segments, develops and implements human capital project plans/initiatives, to establish effective organizational designs, structures, and efficiency in support of business objectives.
- Act as a change agent to the business; design processes and approaches to prepare the organization for ongoing change and transformation. In partnership with the COE, use agreed change leadership techniques including approaches to organizational diagnosis.
- Analyzes employee/operational data (HR metrics) to proactively identify areas of concern or opportunity.
- Works with managers to develop plans to address issues, measure effectiveness, and follow-up, as necessary.
- Assists in the planning, development, implementation, evaluation, and communication of all employee-related programs and activities.
- Conducts ER and/or leadership training programs, as required.
- Works closely with business segments to accurately define roles and job hierarchies.
- Keeps Compensation partners appraised of restructure requests, competitive concerns, and retention issues.
- Proven success working closely with management and employees to build and improve relationships, build morale, increase engagement, productivity, performance, and retention.
- Continually assesses the competitiveness of programs and practices and view things through the employee lens (EX).
- College degree or equivalent experience
- PHR or SPHR preferred
- 7-10 years as a progressively responsible human resources generalist/business partner experience.
- Prior work experience as an HRBP supporting IT is highly preferred.
- Some travel required
- Deep knowledge of HR practices including employee relations, talent management, workforce planning and strategic partnerships.
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing deadlines.
- Strong communication skills (oral, written and presentation) with ability to influence.
- Proficiency with HR technology and MS Office Suite.

Job Summary
Provides strategic HR consultation to the Information Technology business unit, planning and demonstrating the value of human capital management in support of the business strategy to achieve superior business results. This position will engage and influence key business leaders by providing valuable input to align the human capital plan with business objectives. This role will also develop and implement action plans which will strengthen business segment competitive advantage, as well as communicate and educate managers and employees on HR policies, programs, and initiatives supporting the company's business strategies. Works collaboratively with all other areas within HR to ensure all messages to business clients are internally aligned. All job duties and responsibilities must be carried out in compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements. Must be willing to travel quarterly to Glastonbury/Hartford, CT and/or Charlotte, NC.
Job Responsibilities
Job Qualifications and Requirements:
Salary range: $116,000 - $167,000. The actual base salary is based on geographic location, and the range is representative of salaries for this role throughout Selective's footprint. Additional considerations include the candidate's qualifications and experience.
