    ULAR Lab Animal Assistant/Technician Assistant Lab Animal

    Job Overview

    As a ULAR Lab Animal Assistant/Technician Assistant Lab Animal, you will play a crucial role in providing care to laboratory animals in a safe and humane manner. Your responsibilities will include feeding, watering, and maintaining the animals' living spaces, as well as assisting scientists and documenting tasks related to animal husbandry.



    Job Description Summary:
    • Provide laboratory animal care ensuring compliance with regulations
    • Clean and sanitize animal cages and equipment
    • Assist in solving animal-related issues and provide basic training
    • Document completion of animal husbandry tasks
    • Report animal health and conditions to the supervisor

    The ULAR Lab Animal Assistant/Technician Assistant Lab Animal role is essential, requiring 24/7 availability and flexibility to work during emergencies or peak activity periods.



    Principal Position Responsibilities/Duties:
    • Clean and sanitize animal cages and equipment
    • Feed, water, and change cages; report health or environmental issues
    • Receive and house animals
    • Assist scientists and provide basic on-site training
    • Document completion of tasks and report problems

    Qualifications:
    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • 0-1 year experience for Lab Animal Assistant
    • Experience in a lab animal facility or AALAS certification for Tech Assistant Lab Animal
    • Knowledge of handling laboratory animals

    Key Requirements:
    • Ability to read, write, and comprehend English
    • Follow written and verbal instructions
    • Service-oriented and able to work in a team
    • Able to lift 50 lbs repetitively
    • Must pass pre-employment physical examination
    • Willingness to work weekends, holidays, and overtime
    • Computer skills are advantageous
