Job Description Summary
Plans and conducts basic experiments to meet research project objectives, with close supervision. Assists in performing laboratory experiments and clinical studies for product or material formulation and development. Daily management of laboratory tools, documentations and processes to ensure regulatory compliance and timely completion of project/program deliverables.
Job Description:
The Cancer Biology laboratory led by Dr.
Chengcheng Jin at the University of Pennsylvania is searching for a motivated, highly organized individual to assist in experimental animal model systems aimed at understanding genetic and molecular aberrations in tumor immunology.
Applicants should have a good working knowledge of molecular biology, as well as a strong motivation for learning diverse experimental approaches.
This position is an excellent opportunity to gain experience with cutting edge technologies in immunology and cancer biology and be recognized via authorship in research publications.
Qualified individuals will be expected to contribute via maintaining a mouse colony, experimental assistance to ongoing research projects, harvesting tissue and performing flow cytometry, collecting and recording data, and providing lab organization assistance under the supervision of the PI in the laboratory.
This position is contingent upon grant funding.Job Responsibilities
- Mouse husbandry
- PCRbased genotyping
- Assist with mouse experiment, flow cytometry
- Preparation/analysis of histological samples, cell culture, flow cytometry, as well as DNA, RNA and Protein isolation and detection t4echniques
- Help in the general running of the lab, including: ordering, receiving items, and maintaining lab organization
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science and 0 to 1 year of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
