    JOB SUMMARY
    The AR Specialist is an integral member of the growing Finance & Accounting team.

    This role will contribute to the efficient and effective workings of all AR functions by executing daily tasks with strong attention to detail.

    Candidates must provide financial, clerical, and administrative services to ensure efficient, timely, and accurate payment of accounts under their control.

    This role will utilize experienced AR/accounting knowledge, time management skills, and effective problem-solving to ensure success. This position requires interaction with the finance, supply chain, and sales department. Candidates must also communicate with clients and observe the confidentiality of client and company matters. The ideal candidate will need to be attentive to deadlines, highly organized, and detail-oriented.

    The applicant should display a positive and proactive attitude, have the ability to prioritize, multitask and be a strong communicator, both written and oral.

    The AR Specialist's responsibilities include creating and distributing monthly client statements.

    Specialists must update and manage the ERP system and maintain a spreadsheet that includes a list of outstanding invoices, invoice due dates and the amount of time the invoice has been outstanding.

    Ensuring the organization receives payments for goods and services and properly records all transactions.


    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    • Collect on accounts by sending bill reminders and communicating with customers and staff via phone, email, fax, or mail.
    • Secure revenue by verifying and posting receipts; post customer payments by recording checks, wires, and processing credit card transactions.
    • Monitor customer account details for non-payments, delayed payments, and other irregularities; resolve discrepancies.
    • Process and clear credit card and electronic payment batch deposits
    • Reconcile customer accounts and research remittance deductions taken
    • Generate and send out invoices and statements.
    • Follow up on, collect and allocate payments.
    • Maintain up-to-date billing system within existing ERP system.
    • Maintain accounts receivable customer files and records.
    • Investigate and resolve customer and staff queries and payment discrepancies.
    • Prepare check payments for bank deposits using electronic deposit methods.
    • Manage other aspects of Accounts Receivable function including, but not limited to customer relations, cash inflow management, systems implementation and/or enhancements, optimization of processes, and month-end closing and reporting.
    • General administrative work.
    • Complete special projects giving insightful analysis when needed.
    • Perform other duties as required to support the Finance Department.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting 2+ years AR accounting experience
    • Organization, Accounting, Data Entry Skills, General Math Skills, Analyzing Information, Attention to Detail, Thoroughness, Reporting Research Results, Verbal and Written Communication

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
    This position has no supervisory responsibilities.


    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    • Lifting: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
    • Reaching: Extending hands and arms in any direction.
    • Sitting: Must be able to remain in the seated, stationary position throughout the workday.
