is currently seeking an
Accounting Specialist
to join its
Accounting Team
at its company headquarters in Brookfield, WI .
Under the guidance of an Accounting Department Supervisor or Manager, this position performs accounting functions for the accurate and timely processing of captive and non-captive accounts.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Gather, compile, and evaluate data from multiple sources and various systems to prepare comprehensive monthly or quarterly statements for our accounts, and submit to leadership for approval and appropriate processing.
Monthly reconciliation of the previous month's outstanding balances.
Execute data entry for premiums and losses within an AS/400 platform, which is in the beginning phase of migrating to an updated system.
Research and reconcile unsolved open items by policy.Collaborate across various departments throughout the company.
Interact with external contacts, including brokers, insureds, and third-party administrators.
Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
This
position
requires
an
Associate
Degree
in
Accounting, or an equivalent combination of related experience.
OTHER SKILLS &
ABILITIES:
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment while exercising the ability to work independently and effectively.
Intermediate skills with Microsoft Windows and Office products, with an emphasis of Excel functionality.
Effective oral and written communication skills, with the ability to exercise discretion with confidential information.
Must have a strong customer service background working in a professional team environment.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Must be a team player and motivated to learn with a strong desire to take on a new challenge.
PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:
This
position
requires
one
to
sit
for
extended
periods
and
stand
and/or
walk
occasionally.
The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform activities such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing multiple computer monitors; extensive reading both words and numbers.
This position works in a professional office environment.
No personal protective equipment is required.
Ergonomic equipment is available to employees.
