    JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

    Penn State Altoona, a public related institution, invites candidates for the opening of Part-Time Assistant Women's Softball Coach. The assistant coach reports to the head coach and is responsible for assisting in the management of all aspects of the softball program.

    Job Duties
    Duties include, but will not be limited to:
    • Coaching in games.
    • Recruitment of student athletes
    • Practice sessions.
    • Assisting with team fundraising.
    • Team travel.
    Requirements and Qualifications
    • A demonstrated ability to recruit, motivate, and develop Division III student-athletes.
    • Knowledge of the sport and a verifiable ability to teach both fundamentals and strategies of the sport is necessary.
    • This person must possess a commitment to high academic standards, and the NCAA Division III philosophy.
    • A successful candidate will have a reputation for integrity.
    • Applicants must be well versed in the sport and have previous coaching or instructing experience.
    • May require the ability to work in an outdoor environment in adverse weather conditions including extreme heat and cold.
    • Employment with the University for this job will require successful completion of the Pennsylvania (PA) Publicly Available Clearances: PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check, and the FBI Criminal History Background Check.
    • Employment with the University for this job will require the operation of a motor vehicle as a part of the job duties. A valid US driver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.
    Penn State Altoona is a member of the NCAA Division III and the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC). Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the vacancy is filled. This is a part-time, non-benefits eligible opening.
