- Demonstrate the WCHS core mission, vision, and values.
- Develop policies and procedures to ensure hospital compliance needs are achieved and policies ensure accuracy with department practices. Ensures that the facility standard practices and procedures are followed in connection with all department functions.
- Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all procedures to include procurement, inventory control, receiving, storage and distribution of supplies, materials, and equipment.
- Manages the day-to-day operation of the Supply Chain Services Department efficiently and effectively; includes the ability to effectively problem solve, organize, and manage quality assurance, monitor workflow and departmental processes, and ensures service levels are achieved and maintained on a consistent basis. Coordinate productive hours, space, equipment, and expense as they relate to materials department.
- Manage departmental financial operations; includes developing, maintaining and monitoring budgets, participates in the annual budgeting process, approves employee's timecard in electronic payroll system, monitor overtime within the department, and monitor budgets, expenses, and variances for the department.
- Work in coordination with the Quality Program for continued assessment and improvement of the departments overall quality of functions and services delivered throughout WCHS.
- Develops concepts and ideas to enhance departmental planning and communicates ideas to the Chief Administrative Officer.
- Attends daily safety huddles, monthly team leader meetings and other leadership meetings as required.
- Develops team members to be knowledgeable and qualified in job responsibilities and expectations; provided training within the department of policies and procedures and support continued professional development.
- Communicate effectively with team members to promote a positive work environment, recognize individual's strengths, efforts and accomplishments. Hold regularly scheduled departmental meetings to discuss activities, projects, facility needs, upcoming department or facility changes.
- Address employee issues as they arise and work with human resources to obtain guidance and assist with the issue(s) to resolve in an appropriate and timely manner.
- Supervises, evaluates on an annual basis, mentors and coaches department staff members.
- Obtain resources such as supplies, materials, equipment and ensure timely, accurate and complete issuance of materials to departments to meet needed day-to-day operations.
- Maintains acceptable and optimal inventory levels to ensure on-time deliveries to meet customer requirements; review monthly expiration dates of supplies and communicate with department leadership.
- Utilize acceptable purchasing practices to maximize price savings, rebates and group purchasing agreements. Responsible for continuing programs of exploration for new materials, suppliers, and processes to achieve the best possible quality, reliability, prices, continuity, and delivery, maintain good relationships with suppliers and vendors.
- Recommend solutions to existing processes striving to continually improve by providing recommendations on process improvement, increase efficiency and elimination of waste.
- Establishes procedures and supervises the annual physical inventory.
- Ensure supplies and materials are purchased according to specifications.
- Ensure materials and parts in the supply chain meet the minimum requirements for quality assurance standards.
- Interface directly with all departments in the hospital about materials that have been requested to ascertain specifications and need.
- Maintain adequate supply levels throughout the hospital; coordinate the maintenance of supplies in the hospital in emergencies.
- Follow established safety practices and procedures for receiving hazardous substances; follows all safety and infection control policies.
- Understand and complies with established HIPAA regulations and guidelines.
- Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management or related field preferred.
- 3 plus years' experience in logistics role or related experience, inventory maintenance and supply purchasing preferred.
- 1-3 years of supervisory experience preferred.
- Designation as a Certified Materials and Resource Professional (CMRP) would be a definite plus.
- Ability to work cooperatively and communicate effectively to provide excellent customer service and good working relationships with staff and other health care providers.
- Excellent organizational skills and have a deep understanding of forecasting and budgeting.
- Operational experience with supply chain and inventory management systems and reports.
- Knowledgeable of forecasting and budgeting.
- Ability to identify and solve problems expeditiously.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Must have a valid driver's license and able to meet the Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska insurance eligibility guidelines.
- Regular and punctual attendance for assigned shifts; and after hours as needed.
- Must possess the ability to read, write, and speak the English language fluently.
- Must be able to continually and effectively employ professional verbal and written communications skills.
- Must attend all department meetings and other training courses as directed by Hospital Controller.
- Normal to light office work which includes the ability to lift up to 10 lbs.
- Regularly required to walk, stand, and sit for extended periods of time and use hands to operate computer keyboard, phone, and various office equipment.

Job Purpose & Position Overview
The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for developing, administering, and supervising a coordinated supply support system that operates efficiently and meets the needs of the hospital. Develops policies and procedures in purchasing, inventory control, storage, receiving, and distribution of supplies, equipment, and services. Provides technical expertise for all activities, processes, procedures, and supervision of the WCHS Supply Chain Services Department. Ensures and supports effective departmental operations to include evaluation, procurement, storage and distribution of all supplies, materials, and equipment throughout the organization. Collaborate with department leadership to determine departmental needs, and purchase supplies and materials according to specifications. Responsible for controlling the buying decisions and setting policies for managing the facility's supply chain. Implementing measures to reduce supply costs within tight budget constraints is essential. Other typical daily duties include reviewing inventories, assessing the facility's needs, overseeing the distribution of supplies, analyzing purchase histories, supervising staff, and placing necessary orders.
