    Job Description

    Position: Sr. Accountant

    Reports to: Chief Financial Officer

    Mission Statement:

    Position Summary

    The Sr. Accountant will lead finance, accounting, and reporting activities, ensuring timely completion of various accounting tasks such as general ledger preparation and financial reporting.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Minimum of a BA; MBA in Accounting, Business Management, or related field preferred

    • Prior leadership experience in a Healthcare or Clinical finance department required, FQHC experience is a plus
    • At least 3 years of grants management experience preferred
    • Proficiency in financial and accounting software; strong analytical and problem-solving skills

    Responsibilities:

    • Supervise financial accounting functions to ensure accurate financial recording and reporting
    • Establish internal controls for revenue, costs, and budgets
    • Analyze financial data, prepare financial reports, and communicate financial statements
    • Coordinate accounting functions and prepare financial analyses
    • Assist in budgeting, financial planning, and annual audit preparations
    • Identify and resolve audit findings and discrepancies
    • Contribute to the improvement of accounting systems and procedures
    • Manage general ledger and month-end closing
    • Assess financial effectiveness and support program operations
    • Oversee financial, project, and grants accounting
    • Prepare financial reports for grants and funding sources
    • Collaborate with CFO on cash flow forecasting and financial operations
    • Prepare statistical reports for management and agencies
    • Provide supervision to the Finance Department staff and participate in professional development activities
