- Manage both direct and indirect procurement of goods and services globally, overseeing bidding and contract negotiations.
- Assess supplier capabilities, perform cost-benefit analysis, resolve issues, mitigate risks, and plan contingencies.
- Strategically manage specified commodities to optimize total costs, including payment terms, inventory, and lead-time reduction, and supplier consolidation.
- Provide analytical input for strategic decisions affecting the functional area of responsibility.
- Establish vendor relationships and develop processes to support new product development and strategic initiatives.
- Contribute to budgetary planning for price variance and inventory forecasting.
- Develop performance metrics based on key performance indicators (KPIs) for evaluation and measurement.
- Generate monthly report cards for top suppliers and address discrepancies.
- Identify at-risk items and collaborate with teams to mitigate supply risks by developing dual sourcing strategies or qualifying alternative materials.
- Ensure proper product quality and inventory rotation (FIFO).
- Collaborate with internal business units to align strategies and support long-term corporate sourcing strategies.
- Support organizational goals to achieve revenue and EBIT targets, ensure supply continuity, and manage supplier chain risks.
- Maintain overall supplier relationships.
- Support new product introductions through strategic sourcing and risk mitigation.
- Drive cost reduction programs and meet goals for commercialized products.
- Monitor commodity pricing trends to inform negotiations and develop long-term sourcing strategies.
- Collaborate with Product Development and Design Engineering teams during early product development stages to ensure cost-effective design and strategic supplier utilization.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and standards, such as ROHS, Reach, Conflict Minerals, and Quality Technical Agreements.
- Maintain regular attendance and comply with all company policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes and systems at both tactical and strategic levels.
- Experienced and effective negotiator familiar with OEMs and contract manufacturers.
- Skilled in project management with a strong work ethic and attention to detail.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to resolve conflicts effectively.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and multitasking skills.
- Proven ability to effectively interface with different company departments.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Industrial Management, Logistics, or a related technical discipline is required.
- Over 20 years of experience in supply chain management, procurement, and inventory planning, preferably in medical device manufacturing.
- Professional certifications such as CPM, CPIM, or similar SPICS Certification are preferred.
- Supervisory experience and intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office are required.

Job Summary
The Senior Commodity Manager develops, implements, and maintains a commodity inventory strategy that supports the company's supply chain. This role involves procuring goods, services, and supplies to meet company standards of cost, quality, and delivery.
This position also evaluates and recommends vendors for functions directly associated with the company's needs, including indirect materials and services, fixed assets and tooling, and selected production materials and services. The role includes managing sourcing strategies, performance metrics, contracts, and supplier relationships, aiming to improve supplier delivery, quality, lead-time, and inventory management to enhance customer service and total cost of ownership.
