    Requisition Summary

This requisition is for a Commodity Manager for Capital Equipment and Construction Projects. A Commodity Manager is a purchasing professional who has, or develops, specific commercial expertise in the products and services under their responsibility. That expertise includes networking with the companies in the industry to understand their core competencies. A Commodity Manager has, or develops, cross-functional knowledge in the technical, financial, and legal aspects of those products and services.

The selected individual will be responsible for partnering with and supporting internal business units, functional groups, and associated stakeholders, while executing strategic sourcing, category management, and supplier relationship management initiatives. This position will be responsible for managing PACCAR's commercial relationship with capital equipment manufacturers, commercial construction contractors, and fabricators of returnable-racks for production parts, as well as driving commercial strategies to control costs and mitigate risk. Some examples of capital equipment are robotics to assemble or paint trucks, and autonomously guided vehicles for the movement of truck components in manufacturing facilities. Returnable racking is used to transport truck components and assemblies.

The ideal candidate will be a proven change agent in the field of Purchasing and large-contract management, focused on delivering the highest value of products and services to internal and external customers at the lowest total cost.

Work location will be at Peterbilt, in Denton TX.

•Negotiate and manage all aspects of PACCAR relationships with suppliers, including commercial and contractual requirements with respect to total cost, implementation, schedule, and performance, while minimizing risk.

•Facilitate Supplier Relationship Management efforts, including strategic segmentation and supplier rationalization.

•Communicate and conduct meetings and formal presentations with suppliers, plants, divisions, and corporate personnel at all management levels.

•Travel to supplier locations and PACCAR facilities and industry conferences to network with relevant company contacts, evaluate capabilities, assess processes, investigate new opportunities, improve product or service efficiencies, and resolve chronic supply or quality issues. This role will require < 10% travel.
