    Position Summary:

    The Director of Accounting is responsible for overseeing all Division accounting controls to ensure compliance with SOX, GAAP, and company policies and procedures.

    Responsibilities:

    • Manage accounts payable and general ledger functions, approve journal entries, and conduct account reconciliations while implementing strong internal controls for financial accuracy.
    • Prepare and review precise monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in alignment with GAAP and Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) regulations.
    • Drive financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting processes to ensure precise and timely financial projections.
    • Analyze divisional accounting and financial statements, performance metrics, and operational trends to support leadership in enhancing performance.
    • Collaborate with the corporate FP&A team to ensure accurate divisional inputs for the consolidated business plan.
    • Investigate any unusual variances or results in collaboration with the accounting team.
    • Enhance productivity by creating automated applications and streamlining processes to eliminate manual tasks and duplications.
    • Offer valuable analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement, growth, and cost efficiency.
    • Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) regulations and provide guidance on accounting policies and procedures.
    • Optimize cash flow, liquidity, and working capital for the Division's financial resources.
    • Develop strategies for improved cash forecasting, risk management, and capital allocation.
    • Lead and guide a high-performing finance and accounting team, fostering innovation, collaboration, and professional development.
    • Establish clear objectives, deliver consistent feedback, and facilitate training and growth opportunities.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field. MBA or CPA is a plus.
    • Minimum 4-5+ years of experience in residential homebuilding or 7 years in a similar industry.
    • Demonstrated experience in a senior finance leadership role, ideally in real estate or homebuilding.
    • Solid understanding of financial planning, reporting, and analysis, with a proven record of enhancing financial performance aligned with business objectives.
    • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting requirements, and regulatory compliance.

    Supervisory Responsibilities:

    This role involves supervisory duties and leading a team of individuals.

    Physical Requirements:

    This position is mainly sedentary. Occasionally, bending, stooping, reaching, lifting, and moving office materials of 25 pounds or less may be necessary. Finger dexterity for computer operation is essential. Professional attire and appearance are required for public interactions.

    Travel Requirements:

    Some travel may be needed. A valid driver's license and active vehicle insurance are mandatory.
