    Job Overview



    The Solutions Cloud Engineer is responsible for architecting and developing cloud-native platforms on Azure - AWS. Working with virtual machines, containers, serverless, network, storage, security, and platform services such as analytics, database, and devops pipeline, among others. Additionally, they manage the Integration Platform as a Service, like MuleSoft/Boomi. Implementing software-defined strategies for infrastructure management, application deployment, and services transformation. Furthermore, transitioning on-premises production and testing environments to the cloud. They provide continuous technical support to both internal and external customers during and after the migration process. The role also involves the daily management and maintenance of cloud-based infrastructure.



    This position contributes to the strategic direction for Cloud Infrastructure. The Solutions Cloud Engineer interacts with key stakeholders, leads projects to successful completion, and provides mentorship to team members. Acting as a central point of contact for all Cloud initiatives, they bring a comprehensive perspective on how Valley leverages Cloud technology now and in the future.



    Job Description



    Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Design cutting-edge technical solutions on Azure - AWS to meet customer's needs for scalability, reliability, security, and performance.
    • Setup, customize, automate, and supervise various cloud services, Infrastructure as a Service and Platform as a Service offerings.
    • Configure application-centric infrastructure to address application requirements, security, and disaster recovery functions like backups and data restoration.
    • Conduct operational engineering tasks such as platform upgrades, server maintenance, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
    • Collaborate closely with architects, engineers, and developers to craft functional design specifications.
    • Create and oversee all cloud provisioning scripts necessary for different instances, environment-based resources, or regional-specific assets.
    • Coordinate extensively with the DevOps team to enhance cloud automation beyond the infrastructure layer.
    • Direct and manage the activities of an integrated project team including developers, subject matter experts, database administrators, system administrators, and system architects to implement and sustain enterprise-level IT solutions.
    • Lead all cloud technology deployment efforts, workflow setup and enhancement, and integration of third-party systems.


    Requirements



    Required Skills:

    • Proficiency in Cloud Computing Platforms like Azure Core Platform, Amazon Web Services, and Google Cloud Platform: Compute, Storage, and Networking.
    • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, ARM templates, VMware, CloudFormation, and Deployment Manager.
    • Skilled in managing virtualized platforms across various cloud providers, both public and private.
    • Knowledgeable in cloud networks and connectivity including MPLS and VPNs.
    • Familiarity with Operating Systems, Virtual Machine setups, Mainframe security solutions, and Relational Database Management Systems, along with Systems Automation platforms and Technologies.
    • Expertise in Data Platforms like Azure SQL DB, Cosmos DB, and HD Insights.
    • Experience in Linux systems administration, configuration, troubleshooting, and automation.
    • Proficient in Web Technologies including IIS, Azure Web Apps, PHP, Apache, Tomcat, Cassandra, Kafka, Nginx, HAProxy, MySQL, among others.
    • Skilled in Identity and Authentication protocols like SSO/Federation, AD/Azure AD, etc.
    • In-depth knowledge of Middleware - System Engineering and scripting languages like Python, Ruby, Bash, Go, etc.
    • Programming proficiency in PowerShell, Python, C#, Java, and OpenSource technologies.
    • Working knowledge of at least one configuration management tool such as Ansible, Chef, or Puppet, Docker, and other automation tools.
    • Experience with Active Directory management and domain maintenance.
    • General comprehension of Microservices, firewalls, NAT, and packet filtering.
    • Familiarity with Management Suite, certificates, SSL management, backup, and disaster recovery processes.
    • Strong understanding of IT compliance, information security, and risk management.
    • Knowledgeable in security concepts, vulnerability assessments, incident response, security policy creation, and enterprise security strategies.
    • Proficient in DevOps practices including source control, continuous integration, and deployments.
    • Excellent troubleshooting skills and effective verbal and written communication abilities.


    Required Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience.
    • Hands-on experience with cloud management frameworks.
    • 2-4 years of technical architecture expertise.
    • Proficiency in Azure Resource Templates.
    • Implement security architectures for cloud environments.
    • Extensive skills in Python, CFT (JSON/YAML), Terraform for automation and infrastructure as code development.
    • Experience with setting up CICD pipelines, using Jenkins/bamboo, and coding with cm technologies like chef, puppet, ansible.
    • Proficiency in Windows Server management (2012 r2, 2016) and Linux Server management (RHEL, Ubuntu).
    • Experience deploying web and service-based applications on Windows/Linux platforms.
    • Familiarity with network equipment and protocols like DNS, SMTP, SNMP, SSH, SFTP.
    • Strong understanding of networking principles, operating systems, security technologies, and application programming languages.
    • Hands-on experience with Git, JIRA, Docker, Kubernetes, and management tools like OMS, certificates, and SSL management.
    • Good understanding of IP networking, VPNs, DNS, and load balancing, along with CMS applications and .Net Framework/Core.
    • Proven skills in technical troubleshooting and performance optimization, with exposure to monitoring tools like Application Insights, Prometheus, and Splunk.
    • Strong background in Jenkins, Artifactory, and build pipelines.
    • Comprehensive knowledge of regulatory and compliance issues relevant to privacy, data protection, and security.
    • Experience with JavaScript Frameworks, RESTful APIs, JSON, and XML formats is advantageous.
    • Experience collaborating with various Banking IT software and service providers is a plus.
