**Peckham Inc. - Benefit Support Specialist**
**SUMMARY**
The Benefits Support Specialist provides support to the Benefits team and assists employees with tasks such as benefits questions, managing insurance billing, assisting with annual enrollment, and maintaining tasks in Workday. The incumbent candidate will be a primary point of contact for benefit plan questions as well as plan maintenance. This is a hybrid position requiring a minimum of 3 days onsite in Lansing.
**MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
Be a subject matter expert on all benefit plans and support the Benefits team in administering various employee benefits programs
Answers general benefits questions and explains benefits self-enrollment process for new and existing employees
Maintain employee benefit updates and ensure benefits changes are entered appropriately in Workday (HRIS System)
Work closely with the various plan administrators to ensure timely responses to plan related questions, implementations, and enrollments
Audit Health and Welfare plans as required for payroll and enrollment purposes
Conduct training and orientation with all new employee to enroll and explain insurance and how they work
Organize group email boxes and respond where appropriate
Manage the insurance premiums arrears process
Point of contact for various employee programs such as BetterHelp and HealthBridge
**OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
Maintain safe and clean work environment
Promote Peckhams vision values and services to all customers and stakeholders
Assist in maintaining organizational wide quality standards
Other related duties as assigned
**SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES**
No supervisory responsibilities
**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**
1 year Human Resources experience
Bachelors degree in related field and/or related experience
2 years customer service in a fast-paced environment
**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS**
Advanced knowledge of Workday
Experience working with insurance plans and carriers
Experience with Covid 19 process including contact tracing, isolation, and quarantine guidelines
**PHYSICAL DEMANDS**
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time; will use hands type, will need to communicate via talking or other method and be able to read emails, and documents. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk.
**WORK ENVIRONMENT AND MENTAL DEMANDS**
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to frequent interaction with people. The employee is exposed to a high-volume of questions both in person and via email, will need to multi-task, be able to analyze numbers and names on reports.
