- Collaborate with editor-in-chief to set the overall vision for Fast Company.
- Create groundbreaking editorial initiatives that will increase the visibility and ambition of the title's journalism
- Work across different divisions to help achieve editorial and business goals
- Serve as a conduit to the product, design, engineering, and digital ad sales teams, and provide the ad sales team with content ideas as needed for RFPs, proposals, etc.
- Develop and communicate digital strategy and initiatives across the organization.
- Develop, in collaboration with editor-in-chief, career development and enrichment for editorial staff
- Help set and drive culture for Fast Company's editorial operations, making sure they align with Mansueto Ventures' values.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Ten+ years of experience assigning and editing stories for a daily website, and at least five+ years in a management role.
- Exceptional skills identifying and packaging imaginative, innovative stories that rise above the Internet din.
- Excellent writing and editing skills, and outstanding news judgment
- Experience working with video, audio, and social teams to collaborate on daily/weekly output and longer-term projects with journalistic ambition that also serve business and audience goals.
- Strong interest in and previous experience in business news, and especially in Fast Company's editorial pillars, including technology, creativity, design, social impact, work-life(leadership),and news.
- Deeply sourcing in business news, and have contacts and relationships at the companies and institutions Fast Company regularly covers.
- Track record of accuracy and ethics

ABOUT THE ROLE
Fast Company is looking for an executive digital director that will help the editor-in-chief in setting the tone, vision, and ambition of Fast Company's journalism. They will be responsible for overseeing Fast Company's digital journalism, directing the deputy editors of and a team of senior editors to produce daily coverage and online features. The executive digital director will be a conduit to the product, design, engineering, and digital ad sales teams, helping roadmap and communicate digital strategy and initiatives across the organization.
Salary range: $155,000 - $222,000 + bonus eligible. Compensation may vary based on relevant experience, skills, industry, and education.
