    Summary: Being part of InnerCity Struggle (ICS) as the Director of Development, under the Executive Director's supervision, is an exciting opportunity to lead the organization's growth. You'll play a crucial role in fundraising endeavors, shaping strategies for ICS's $3 million budget expansion, and enhancing overall fundraising capabilities. Collaborating with the Management Team and the Board of Directors, your focus will include a Major Donor Strategy, Membership Structure Development, Special Event Enhancement, and Boosting Fundraising Skills for both Board and Staff.

    Candidate Profile: ICS is searching for a dynamic, collaborative professional dedicated to promoting equity and justice for Eastside communities. The ideal candidate will excel in building relationships, inspiring donors, and navigating fundraising in a community-focused environment like Los Angeles.

    Essential Job Responsibilities:

    • Oversee the organization's budget growth, managing grant proposals, and fostering a culture of philanthropy.
    • Strengthen relationships with Board Members and staff, ensuring a philanthropic mindset across the organization.
    • Lead the Development Team, supervise grant activities, event planning, donor interactions, and volunteer engagement.
    • Enhance development systems, policies, and procedures for efficiency and accountability.
    • Collaborate with the Finance Team to align fiscal management with fundraising goals.
    • Develop strategies to boost revenue through donor engagement and prospecting.
    • Coordinate detailed reporting to the Board.

    The Development Director will work closely with the organization's Management Team and the Board of Directors to implement key objectives in the organization's new Strategic Plan, including:

    • Creating and executing a major donor strategy.
    • Enhancing ICS's special events strategy, including key fundraising campaigns.
    • Establishing a membership structure in partnership with the Director Team.
    • Supporting board fundraising capacity.
    • Strengthening staff fundraising skills.

    Skills and Qualifications

    Key qualifications include a Bachelor's Degree, extensive fundraising experience, knowledge of social justice issues, and exceptional communication skills. Leadership, adaptability, and proficiency in fundraising tools and databases are essential. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is a plus.

    Special Requirements:

    • Must have a reliable automobile, California Driver's License, and insurance.
    • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively.
