Interior Designer Selections Coordinator
General Job Summary
Interior Design Responsibilities:
· Work closely with clients to understand their style preferences, functional needs, and overall vision for their home interior and exterior.
· Develop design concepts and present mood boards, color schemes, and material selections to clients for approval.
· Maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers to source high-quality materials and furnishings. Obtain quotes and negotiate pricing when necessary.
· Collaborate with the construction team to ensure seamless integration of design elements into the building process.
· Maintain detailed records of receipts, invoices and tracking numbers for products purchased.
· Address any design-related issues that may arise during the construction process, offering creative solutions while adhering to the client's vision. Make periodic visits to the project to ensure ideas are being implemented properly.
Selections Coordinator Responsibilities:
Schedule and perform exterior and interior design selections, upgrades and options with each client and shape the client expectations regarding deadline dates to maximize customer experience and satisfaction while keeping construction on schedule.
· Work in a team atmosphere to maintain a positive relationship with clients through exceptional communication and follow up / follow through skills from directly after the home design has been completed through the closing.
· Obtain bids, Negotiate, execute purchase orders to trades and vendors based on client selections to meet deadlines for project schedules while staying on budget.
· Coordinate and execute client onsite walks at key points of construction including the Mechanicals walk of the home for additional mechanicals options and upgrades.
· Maintain a constant up to date organization and filing of all client selections within the Builder Trend system for client approvals, trade and site project manager data.
· Convey all client selections and upgrades to the field project manager, trades and vendors by maintaining Builder Trend daily.
· Maintain organization and management of the DJK Model Home Selections Center.
· Maintain a solid understanding of the DJK Builder Trend system and develop a comprehensive knowledge of the standard features and amenities of each floor plan including structural and non-structural option
· Assist in making the buyer experience the best it can be by providing exceptional customer service.
Skills and Experience for success
Self-Motivated, Ability to multitask, Attention to detail, Strong sales skills, Critical eye with creative interior and exterior design ideas along with use of materials / colors, Strong communication skills, negotiating skills, Professional presentation, Ability to read home plans, Strong problem solving and decision-making ability, Work within a team environment, flexibility on hours.
**Previous experience in the Interior Design and New Home Selections field is a plus
Computer skills: Data entry and use of various systems such as (Excel, Word, Builder Trend).
Knowledge in design software: Autocad, Design Files, MyDomu, Sketchup
Expected Hours
M-F 8-5:30(ish) (approx hour work week), Flexibility to mix up the workdays with Saturdays and Evenings / hours as needed to meet clients. Hourly Pay with Overtime, Commissions, Benefits
