    Position Summary

    Under the general direction of the Human Resources Director or Manager, the Temporary Human Resource Generalist, will run or support the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including leave of absence, retirements, workers compensation, employee relations, and compliance.

    Specific Responsibilities


    • Administers one or more of the following:employee recognition and reward programs, leaves of absence, workers' compensation, commuter assistance and carpool programs, as well as tuition and certification reimbursement.
    • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, retirements, and leave; disciplinary matters; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
    • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
    • Assists with the maintenance and administration of HR technology and software.
    • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
    • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
    • Proficiency with ADP Workforce Now (Cornerstone is a plus), and the ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS and related HR systems and software.
    Required Education and Experience


    • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent knowledge and experience required.
    • At least three years of human resource experience required; human resources generalist experience in areas of leave of absence, workers compensation, accommodations, employee relations, retirement plans, and compliance preferred.
    • SHRM-CP or HRCI certification a plus.
