- Demonstrate expertise in assessing and treating Adult and Pediatric patients' psychopathology.
- Apply knowledge of management principles to plan Division activities and support ancillary staff on a daily basis.
- Participate in Division development, problem-solving, and committee involvement.
- Utilize labor relations principles to address staff concerns effectively.
- Assist in implementing PI projects, interpreting results for care improvements.
- Evaluate daily department operations, focusing on staffing, record keeping, and communication with the Director of Nursing (ED).
- Collaborate with Supervisors to ensure staff understands and conveys hospital mission/vision statements to patients and families.
- Handle challenging behaviors from patients, families, and visitors with a non-judgmental approach to achieve positive outcomes.
- Pursue and obtain the Certification for Emergency Nursing (CEN).
- Engage in Performance Improvement (PI), Joint Commission (JC), and regulatory agency activities.
- Assist in planning and conducting orientations for new staff in collaboration with the director.
- Review, rewrite, and revise policies and procedures as needed.

Job Description:
Purpose:
Reporting to the Director of Emergency Nurses, you will collaborate with various departments to plan, develop, and assess comprehensive care for patients in the Emergency Department.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Current New York State Professional Nurse license registration, plus (2) or (3), stated below.
2. Master's Degree in Nursing Administration, Education, Clinical Specialty, or a related field with five years of nursing experience (including three years in a supervisory or teaching role); or a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing with six years of nursing experience (including four years in a supervisory or teaching role).
3. Equivalent education and experience will be considered, but all candidates must hold a current New York State Professional Nurse license.
