The new Dallas-North office is located in a mixed-use building with access to retail, restaurants and apartments at Legacy West in Plano – home to several national and global corporations.
    This non-exempt position performs a variety of administrative activities as it relates to the human resources function.

    Essential Duties

    Input all Human Resources employee data that includes but not limited to: job class changes, new hire information, terminations, promotions, address/phone changes, name changes, and benefit changes: death, birth, etc.

    Analyze data and statistics for trends and patterns with attention to recruitment, hiring practices, motivation, turnover, and compliance with employment laws and regulations.

    Prepares reports of data results, presenting and explaining findings to senior leadership.

    Review and update new hire, termination, recruiting and other internal processes, and those that involve other functions outside of HR.

    Develop documentation for new processes as needed.
    Ensure that Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are written, updated and/or assigned, maintained for all team functions.
    Prepare clear, concise and accurate standard and ad hoc reports and turnover metrics, and develop templates as needed.
    Assist with Visa management. Verify I-9 documentation and conduct I-9 audits monthly.

    Provide direction and problem solving support to employees as it relates to areas within the HR Specialist span of control.

    Make recommendations as appropriate.
    Develop process improvements within the internal structure of the Human Resources department to increase efficiencies.
    Assist in updating job descriptions in the HRIS system and create job profiles in Workday.
    Assist with managing the HR operations process for the fall/summer associates program.

    Manage the performance evaluation 360 Feedback process, which includes communications, HRIS system input, and tracking of the process and reporting on progress made.

    May assist HR leadership with staffing, recruiting, and departmental budgets.
    Assist with employment law compliance alerts.
    Other Duties
    Assist with processing departmental mail.

    Perform other related duties as needed or assigned.

    Reporting Relationship
    The Human Resources Specialist reports directly to the Senior Manager of Human Resources.

    Qualifications
    Knowledge/Experience
    The Human Resources Specialist should possess knowledge of the human resources field and have strong analytical and problem-solving skills. The Human Resources Specialist should possess at least one year of general office or human resources experience.
    Skills
    The Human Resources Specialist should possess the ability to type 45 WPM, excellent written and oral communication skills. Strong grammatical and analytical skills are required. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office suite or related software. Must be proficient with or have the ability to quickly learn the firm's HRIS (Workday). The incumbent must be a detailed, organized, professional service oriented individual with excellent communication skills.

    Must work well independently and as a part of a team and must have the ability to appropriately prioritize the workload.

    Should possess a basic understanding of the human resources disciplines and operations.
    Education
    High school diploma or equivalent. A degree is preferred.
    Physical Demands

    Must be able to move around the office up to 15% of the time to make copies, fax, file, etc.

    Remains stationary at least 85% of the time. This position operates computers and other office productivity machines (e.g., fax machine, copier, printer, etc.) on a regular basis. Occasionally required to move documents or files weighing up to 15 lbs. This position requires constant communication and exchange of information with the Firm attorneys, clients and staff.

    This position must be able to inspect and observe information on a computer screen at least 80% of the time.
