    Job Description

    The Tax Manager, under the direction of the Tax Director will provide daily guidance and support to the tax department.

    Assist with the research, preparation and review of various firm tax returns.


    Primary Responsibilities and/or Essential Functions:
    Review federal and state partnership income tax returns
    Review all necessary U.S. returns for foreign entities (e.g., 8858 and 5471)
    Review quarterly estimated tax payments and other tax returns
    Maintain/adjust the tax calendar as needed and be attentive of approaching deadlines
    Fulfilling local tax advisor information requests and managing expectations as appropriate
    Maintain/reconcile the various tax accounts on the general ledger and oversee adjustments to W-2 reporting (imputed income) where needed
    Assist the Tax Director with tax research and other special projects
    Manage all state and local tax audits
    Provide direction and support to tax staff as appropriate
    Any additional responsibilities as required by management


    Knowledge, Skills & Ability:
    ~6+ years tax experience; preferably in both Big 4/National firm and private company tax departments
    ~ Partnership tax compliance experience mandatory; law firm industry experience a plus
    ~ Proficient use of Microsoft Excel is mandatory
    ~ Self-starter; ability to remain self-directed and self-motivated with minimal supervision
    ~ Ability to work well in a team atmosphere
    ~ Excellent time management and prioritization skills
    ~ Excellent PC skills
    ~ Tax Equalization experience and of knowledge of 3E is a plus


    Education/Certifications:
    BA/BS in accounting or equivalent education
    CPA and/or Masters in Tax preferred

    Estimated salary range is $150,000 - $160,000.

    Compensation decisions within the range are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case including but not limited to the individual's skills, experience, and qualifications.
