    The Team:

    The Accounting/Finance team is responsible for protecting the Company's financial assets, mitigating financial risks and reporting the financial position of the company to business stakeholders. The department is comprised of three main pillars: Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Accounting, & Treasury.

    The Opportunity:

    Hermes of Paris is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tax Manager to join our finance team. The Tax Manager will play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with all tax laws and regulations related to Sales, Income, Business & Property Tax as well as optimizing our tax strategies to minimize liabilities and maximize financial efficiency.

    This position requires a strong understanding of tax codes, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to effectively communicate complex tax matters to stakeholders.

    About the Role:
    • Tax Compliance
      • Oversee and manage all aspects of Sales & Use Tax filings, Income Tax, Business & Property Tax for Hermes of Paris
      • Ensure accurate, timely preparation and filing of monthly Sales & Use Tax returns for multiple jurisdictions in partnership with external tax advisors
      • Manage Income Tax reporting by supporting data requests for estimated payments and Annual filing with tax advisors
      • Assist in quarterly tax provision calculations and financial statement disclosures
      • Monitor changes in sales tax laws and regulations, ensuring ongoing compliance
      • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather necessary data for tax reporting
      • Review and reconcile tax accounts and resolve discrepancies
      • Monitor and ensure adherence to internal tax policies and procedures
      • Conduct internal tax reviews and assessments to identify areas for improvement
    • Tax Strategy
      • Provide recommendations for tax planning and structure, considering both sales and income tax implications
      • Develop and Implement Use Tax self-assessment for expenses
      • Provide guidance on sales tax issues related to product and service offerings
      • Identify potential tax risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize exposure
      • Advise on the implications of business decisions on tax liabilities and risks
    • Tax Audits and Investigations
      • Act as the primary point of contact for sales tax audits and inquiries
      • Respond to tax audits, inquiries, and investigations from tax authorities
      • Prepare documentation, communicate with auditors, and resolve tax-related issues to ensure favorable outcomes
      • Develop and implement strategies to minimize audit exposure
      • Manage the Unclaimed Property Reporting (AUP)

    • YES - assess, propose, and support recommendations to supervisor on process improvements, project launches, as any situation will call upon.
    About You:
    • 5 years in Public / Similar role and/or environment
    • Bachelor's in Accounting/Tax
    • Master's degree / CPA or Advanced Tax Certification preferred
    • Extensive experience in Tax accounting, with a focus on both Sales and Income tax preferably in retail. Experience working in both private and public sectors is a plus.
    • Proficiency in tax software and accounting software (SAP, Avalara)
    • Proven experience in tax planning, compliance, and strategy development
    • Analytical and detail-oriented to accurately present management reports and provide sound recommendations
    • Strong knowledge with systems to understand interfaces and find optimization and automation as available
    • Ability to see the big picture and connect the dots to efficiently work cross-functionally and inter-departmentally
    • Strong ethics, integrity, and credibility
    • Demonstrated ability to build successful relationships and collaborate effectively across departments to meet mutual objectives
    • Foresight and ability to delegate accordingly
    • Strong ability to work in a fast-paced, client-serviced oriented culture where multi-tasking and hands-on collaboration and communication are critical to success

    The range for this position is: $78, $131,499.00 annually. Actual rates are determined based on the job, location, and individual experience.
