    Continuous Improvement, Specialist through Consultant - Dallas, United States - Oncor Electric Delivery

    Salary Range:
    $94,284- $140,588

    Two opportunities are available, position/grade will be based on qualifications and experience.

    Summary

    This position is responsible for executing project support functionalities for Oncor CI initiatives.

    Elements of these functionalities include deployment of Lean, Six Sigma, and Change Management support to meet the needs of Oncor.

    This position will collaborate with the Manager of CEI to provide a comprehensive and superior service to internal clients.

    The incumbent will possess robust combination of quantitative and qualitative skills and technical skills with the ability to engage employees at all levels, build relationships internally and to identify best practices involving systems, processes and people.

    Key Roles & Responsibilities

    Directly or through others, the incumbent:

    Performs all essential functions and aspects of the position including any other specific job requirements.
    Supports activities within the Center for Excellence and Innovation to include leading Lean Six Sigma (LSS) Belt level projects as required by SMEs across the enterprise to sustain Oncor's culture of Continuous Improvement
    Responsible for identifying key performance indicators that are aligned with tactical project execution
    Partners with internal customers maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of innovation efforts and assures that they support Oncor's Mission, Vision, and Values
    Utilizes, helps sustain, and improves CEI infrastructure related to SharePoint maintenance and administration, data analytics and reporting, and facilitation of meetings as needed by Oncor leadership
    Executes Lean Six Sigma projects and analytics that align with Oncor's continuous improvement curriculum
    As needed, provides support for advanced analytics and modeling to aid customers in making data-driven business decisions
    Coach & Mentor LSS Belt candidates
    Other duties may be assigned

    Education, Experience & Skills for CI Specialist:


    Education:
    High school diploma, GED or equivalent is required
    Bachelor's degree is preferred
    Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification is preferred

    Experience

    4-5 years work-related experience in project management and application of continuous improvement tools and processes

    OR
    2 years work-related experience in change management disciplines inclusive of 2 years of LSS Yellow Belt project leadership


    OR
    6-8 years of experience in multiple Operations, Engineering, Project Management or similar roles with:
    Demonstrated formal or informal leadership and mentoring of others
    Proven team-building and organizational skills
    Proven experience as a champion of change
    Proven ability to understand and incorporate business realities into a change program
    Extensive contact with external stakeholders

    Skills

    Ability to transform practical problems into practical solutions using a data-driven approach.
    Ability to use critical thought to help solve complex business problems using effective root cause analysis
    Minitab statistical software knowledge a plus
    Experienced with Microsoft Office tools (PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook); advanced Excel capabilities is a plus

    Skills

    Minitab statistical software experience is desirable
    Highly experienced with Microsoft Office tools (PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook); advanced Excel capabilities is a plus
    Ability to translate complex issues into clear and concise concepts through effective verbal and written communication skills.
    Ability to transform practical problems into practical solutions using a data-driven approach.
    Ability to use critical thought to help solve complex business problems using effective root cause analysis


    Measure of Success:
    Clear line of sight to CEI management that reflects continuous improvement tools are in use, functioning appropriately and become a part of the Oncor's culture of Continuous Improvement
    Effectively collaborates with colleagues and other key stakeholders in the scoping, implementation, and execution of continuous improvement initiatives and other projects that support Oncor's culture of Continuous Improvement
    Provides timely and effective communications with CEI management, peers, subordinates and other stakeholders
    Serves as project leader on tactical LSS Belt projects and data analytics
    Demonstrated ability to support or lead Continuous Process Improvement and Lean Six-Sigma methodologies in a team environment
    Demonstrated ability to understand the complex relationships between Oncor's financial metrics, Capital vs. O&M strategies and the related influence on System Reliability, Safety and Customer Satisfaction
    Must quickly gain the trust of project teams and be comfortable interfacing with them andtheir delegates in all aspects of continuous improvement and operations reporting
    Level of confidence and attention to detail to be able to challenge and be challenged by local management, project sponsors, and peers
    Consistently achieves desired results
