    Description


    The Des Moines Branch Manager (DMBM), will be ultimately responsible for field operations and operations personnel assigned to the Kline Electric in Des Moines, Iowa.

    This includes all field operations personnel but shall not include corporate office management, including those involved in operations at the corporate level.


    Primary Duties and Responsibilities:


    Support and actively seek to engage in and grow the Kline Electric culture and promote and instill the Company Core Values in all employees.

    Oversee the DMs in the running of each department, proactively seeking out concerns and addressing them before issues arise, as well as assisting the DMs in dealing with presented issues (it is expected that the DMBM will guide and execution will take place through the appropriate DM unless there are performance issues with the DM).

    Oversee the financial health and decisions of the Des Moines departments.
    Focus on growth areas, working with DMs on corporate objectives and being vigilant of Traction goals.
    Be ultimately responsible for the safety of field management and workers.
    Assist with correcting non-compliance of goals and objectives and steer field management in the right direction.
    Keep on top of project progress and work with departments to resolve any problems that arise.
    Train and mentor DMs and PMs in sound business practices, proper customer etiquette, and professional craftsmanship.

    Evaluate qualifications that are necessary for taking on new work and communicate with the appropriate personnel to move forward on such qualifications.

    Actively grow established client relationships and ensure that DMs are involved (work with Corporate Customer Relations Specialist).
    Ensure that company technologies are used to the maximum extent feasible to firmly establish competitive advantage
    Evaluate management effectiveness and work with Human Resources to improve or address employee performance.
    Take part in performance reviews of employees when requested.
    Stay on top of estimates and awarded jobs and make recommendations based on performance.
    Report to the Executive group on Des Moines performance, positives, and negatives
    Work with DMs to establish annual operating budgets and income and report them to the Executive Group.
    Manage significant purchases and purchase planning with the CFO and/or Asset Manager as appropriate.
    Coordinate with Human Resources to continue to move forward with establishing operating procedures.
    Perform other duties and responsibilities as determined by the Executive Group.

    Supervisory Responsibilities:


    The DMBM of Des Moines has responsibility over all field personnel that report to the Des Moines, IA office and shall interact with appropriate field and management personnel as appropriate to execute the financial and management goals of the company as set by Corporate Management and Departments.


    Education and Experience Requirements:
    Capability and drive to run and grow the Des Moines "branch" autonomously.
    Current State of Iowa (or reciprocated) Class A Journeyman License strongly preferred.
    Minimum of 10 years management experience in the electrical service and/or construction field with progressive roles of responsibility.

    Bachelor's or Master's degree in Management or Business Administration preferred but not required; however, it is expected that the DMBM is willing to take part in activities or classes outside of operating hours to continue to grow and develop as a professional.

    General working knowledge of all departments running in the branch location.
    Familiarity with estimating software.
    Ability to use Microsoft Office software and applications.
    General experience with IOS interface preferred (apple products for tablet and phone use).
    A level of professional experience where the DMBM can evaluate fine detail as well as the big picture.

    Physical Requirements:
    Must be able to physically perform light work exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally.
    Must have visual acuity to safely operate a vehicle and to be present on construction sites.

    Must be able to perform the following physical activities: climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing and repetitive motions.

    Must be able to handle long periods of sitting and working at a computer or desk.
    Must be able to spend long periods of time in vehicles, both driving and as a passenger.
    Must be able to tolerate weather conditions consistent with Midwestern states.

    Other Requirements:
    Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
    Must be able to pass the company's fleet insurance check for insurability.

    Working Conditions:


    This position will conduct work in various locations, primarily in office and customer office settings, but also on construction sites.


    Contacts:


    This position will have frequent and regular contact with all levels of employees at the branch location and occasional contact with other Company employees and managers.

    This position shall have regular contact with clients and shall have occasional contact with Federal and State agencies during inspections and as otherwise necessary.
