    The Leadership Annual Giving Specialist is a key support position within the Individual Giving team. The Specialist will manage the day-to-day activities of a fast-paced and mature annual unrestricted philanthropy program.

    This position will report to the Director of Individual Giving and Auxiliary Groups, and work to support the fundraising strategies of the Founders Council Manager, Discovery Circle Manager, Trustee giving, and the entire Individual and Major Gifts team.

    The Specialist will be responsible for developing donor-facing communications, structuring sophisticated acquisition and renewal campaigns (mail, email, and phone), fulfilling high-level donor benefits, and staffing donor events.

    Duties And ResponsibilitiesIn partnership with the Annual Fund Coordinator, manage and implement solicitation calendar for unrestricted donors giving up to $10,000 or more, including data requests/review, writing and design of appeal communications, and coordination of out-of-house implementationSupport the Director in the administration of the Trustees Annual Fund solicitation and stewardship, coordinating with the Womens Board and Major Gifts teams to ensure the implementation of cohesive solicitation messagingCarefully manage details of custom proposals and personalized solicitation strategies for nuanced requests, as well as proposals for high-capacity donors and prospectsManage the fulfillment of donor society benefits, including regularly updating donor concierge service resources for Individual and Major Giving teamUtilize Raisers Edge database to generate regular reports and analyses on progress toward department fundraising goals, import data to update proposal and constituent records, and pull data queries and exports for the teamLead gift officers and advancement team members through the annual Proposal Management process, coordinate data segmentation and database tracking, and facilitate regular updates to proposal strategies throughout the yearSupport stewardship activities, including but not limited to in-person and virtual events, behind-the-scenes tours, promptly answering donor phone and email inquiriesManage email solicitations and general communications content and coordinate with Marketing to send to the donor baseBenchmark best practices across peer institutionsOther duties as assignedQualificationsBachelors degree or equivalent level of education and experience2-3 years in an Annual Giving environment in a cultural institutionMicrosoft Office Suite required, including Excel experienceGoogle Business Suite, InDesign, and PowerPoint preferredPrior fundraising database experience is required, Raisers Edge preferredExcellent writing and storytelling skillsExcellent verbal and interpersonal communication skillsStrong attention to detailComfort managing and working with dataStrong organizational skills, able to work on multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlinesAbility to exercise tact and discretion in handling highly confidential information and interacting with Museum donors and prospective donorsAbility to work occasional evenings and weekends for events and donor visitsEnergetic and patient team player with a proactive 'can do' attitudeCollaborative, team-oriented nature and comfort working within the structure of a large institutionAbility to identify priority projects and self-direct work as neededComfort with identifying department needs and establishing new proceduresGenuine interest in the Museum, fundraising, and event planningA passion for science, natural history, and public engagement
