    Description

    Director of Accounting

    Our client is a leading financial services firm specializing in market-making and liquidity provision is looking for a Financial Controller to join their dynamic Finance team. The ideal candidate is a proactive individual who can independently navigate a fast-paced environment, contributing to both individual and team objectives.

    This role involves close interaction with various teams including Finance, Compliance, Trade Operations, and Procurement.     Focus:

    • Monitor, enhance, and maintain accounting control procedures.
    • Lead and supervise the accounting team to ensure efficiency and accuracy in their operations.
    • Oversee the completion of the month-end close process for various domestic and international entities.
    • Ensure the maintenance of complete and accurate accounting records, including the General Ledger, Income Statement, and Balance Sheet.
    • Prepare and file monthly, quarterly, and annual financial and regulatory reports to banks, regulatory bodies, and other third parties.
    • Participate in the budgeting process and contribute to financial forecasting.
    • Coordinate regulatory and financial audits as well as tax return filings with external CPA firms.

    Skill Set:

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
    • A minimum of 5 years of professional accounting experience, preferably in a managerial capacity within the trading or financial services industry.
    • Strong leadership skills with experience managing a finance team.
    • CPA designation is highly preferred.
    • Exceptional communication and analytical skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with strong capabilities in Excel.
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines in a high-pressure environment.
    • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and quality in all work tasks.
