A proficient Employee Benefits Account Executive will actively seek out and generate substantial volumes of employee benefits and health insurance for small and mid-market businesses across Maryland, Virginia, and Washington D.C.
This role presents an exceptional opportunity for a skilled Account Executive to cultivate a significant client portfolio by leveraging existing relationships and cross-selling to current clients.
The ideal candidate should be driven, self-motivated, and goal-oriented, with a strong inclination for competition.The Account Executive will be responsible for daily interaction with Employee Benefits clients and potential clients
Key responsibilities include:
Attainment of new business and retention objectives by pursuing new lines of coverage for existing and prospective clients, as well as acting upon cross-selling opportunities.
Oversight of the implementation process for new business and renewals, encompassing group meetings, enrollment, submission, and distribution of administrative materials.
Management of assigned book of business.Establishment and nurturing of relationships with pivotal client contacts while cultivating new spheres of influence.
Staying abreast of developments in the Health Marketplace to craft and update marketing materials for both new and existing clients.
Maintenance of relationships with carrier representatives, staying informed about new products, carrier procedural changes, and market trends by attending seminars, classes, and carrier meetings.
Ensuring clients remain informed about compliance requirements (e.g., ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA, SPDs, Form 5500s) through meetings, webinars, legislative updates, and other resources.
Acting as a liaison between clients and carrier representatives to resolve escalated service issues and facilitate problem-solving, ensuring clients' concerns are addressed until satisfactorily resolved.
Attendance at marketing events such as component society meetings, seminars, and conferences.Requirements For The Role
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and relevant training.
2 years of experience in Health Insurance sales.
Possession of Life and Health Insurance License (MD, DC & VA).
Proficiency in utilizing electronic filing systems and Agency Management Systems such as AMS360 to log activities, document client meetings, follow up with carriers, address service issues, and establish follow-up dates.
Preferably, a strong understanding of the Affordable Care Act or consulting experience.Ability to work autonomously.
Proficient communication skills to convey complex rules to clients and employees, facilitating decision-making.
High degree of professionalism, self-starting attitude, motivation, and drive for success.
Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and willingness to travel between D.C., Virginia, and Maryland.
