- Provides leadership, guidance, and support to the nursing supervisor and staff, fostering a positive work environment and promoting professional growth and development.
- Ensures adherence to nursing standards of practice, policies, and procedures, as well as regulatory requirements and accreditation standards.
- Monitors and evaluates patient care delivery, identifies areas for improvement and implements quality improvement initiatives.
- Collaborates with healthcare providers, interdisciplinary teams, and other departments to coordinate patient care and optimize outcomes.
- Assess patient acuity and prioritize care delivery, allocating resources and staffing accordingly.
- Addresses patient and family concerns, providing support, education, and advocacy.
- Implements evidence-based practices and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety, satisfaction, and outcomes.
- Participates in regulatory compliance audits, surveys, and inspections, and implements corrective actions to address deficiencies.
- Monitors infection control practices, medication administration, and other patient safety measures.
- Develops and manages departmental budgets, ensuring fiscal responsibility and efficient use of resources.
- Monitors and controls expenses related to staffing, supplies, equipment, and other operational costs.
- Identifies opportunities for cost-saving measures and process improvements to optimize resource utilization.
- Facilitates ongoing education and training for nursing staff along with the Nurse Supervisor by ensuring compliance with licensure and certification requirements.
- Encourages participation in continuing education, professional development activities, and performance improvement initiatives.
- Stays abreast of current trends, research, and best practices in nursing leadership and healthcare delivery.

- Directly supervises the Nurse Supervisor, who oversees nursing staff, including nurse leads and nursing department.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
- Interviews, hires, and trains employees; plans, assigns, and directs work; appraises performance; rewards and disciplines employees; addresses complaints and resolves problems.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice.
- Minimum of five (5) years of clinical nursing experience, with at least three (3) years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN).
- Three (3) years hematology/oncology experience.
- Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems and healthcare technology.
- Ability to build relationships with team members while also upholding organizational expectations.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Communicate well verbally, using appropriate grammar and professional conversation skills required.
