    Position Summary


    The Director of Sales will lead an outside sales team in an assigned region to drive growth through partnering with the distribution channel and directly engaging with customers.

    Primary focus will be on sales revenue, creating demand, and developing new business. The role will balance sales support, partner engagement, and product training with the focus of growing the sales funnel.

    Essential Job Functions


    This position will have responsibility to achieve annual revenue targets through the development and execution of territory and channel partner sales plans.

    Drive development of a growing Sales Opportunity pipeline, regularly updated in the CRM platform, sufficient to support revenue targets and enable monthly forecasting and reporting.

    Encourage proactive behaviors in the Sales team to drive a sense of urgency with channel partners and deliver the highest level of customer support.

    Lead and develop a team of Sales Area Managers, Territory Account Managers, and Manufacturers Representatives. Size and scope dependent on region.

    Follow and implement prescribed work processes to deliver consistently high results for customers to help drive growth and strong partner relationships.

    Regularly review the productivity of assigned partners to identify challenges/successes with sales funnel, time and territory analysis, partner mutual action plans, and key account strategies.

    Aggressively drive channel relationships to maximize revenue, maintaining existing and developing new partners as needed in each market.
    Partner with application engineering, product management, and marketing teams to maximize revenue through program management and events.
    Manage significant sales orders to ensure success and provide status to partners and/or manager.
    Develop systems and procedures to streamline partner management.
    Conduct contract negotiations as required and manage complex bids and RFP requests.
    Prepare written presentations, reports, and price quotations that demonstrate industry knowledge.
    Keep abreast of competition and provide timely feedback to marketing and product management.
    Minimum Requirements


    Advanced education like a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, engineering or related field; or combination of at least 5+ years of relevant experience and associate's degree.

    5 years' sales experience in industrial solutions or technical sales.
    2 years' experience leading sales teams in an industrial business.
    Must be able to obtain documentation to travel domestically either via air, car, or train.
    Ability to plan and manage at both the strategic and operational level.
    Must have reliable ground transportation to fulfill business travel requirements.
    Proficiency with English language both written and verbal communication.
    Preferred Requirements

    Experience in the industrial automation industry or related industry.
    Experience leading teams focused on selling through indirect channels.
    Experience managing channel partners, growing revenue through channel partners and developing teams that support channel growth.
    Working Conditions/Physical Requirements

    Required to work from a home office.
    50-70% travel expectations across territory by both airplane and automobile travel.
    Ability to talk, hear, read, and write in English.
    Use of hands to touch, feel, or handle and reach with hands and arms.
    May be required to lift and or move up to 25 pounds.
    May live within the western United States near major airport.

    Preference / initial target recruitment area is the Denver, CO metropolitan area but other major population centers will be considered.
