    The desired candidate for an **Area Sales Manager** for Marcus Hotels & Resorts is someone who is skilled and knowledgeable in all aspects of sales development, execution and overall hotel operations. Ideally, the candidate will also be flexible to support additional areas of the hotel including events and operations, when needed, to add to our cohesive team approach as the hotel industry continues to recover from the impacts of the pandemic. The ideal candidate will showcase a positive attitude, a proactive approach to problem solving, an eagerness and initiative to learn and jump in on projects and a self-sufficient and self-motivated work style. The person must showcase both managerial level accountability while also being able to flex into administrative or event support responsibilities whenever necessary. While focusing on sales development, the Area Sales Manager will be responsible for the solicitation and management of a sales market to ensure all financial and sales goals are achieved or exceeded. The Area Sales Manager will coordinate and execute sales of meeting space and guest rooms for Hilton Milwaukee City Center, The Pfister Hotel and Saint Kate The Arts Hotel. We are seeking an engaged candidate who will ensure the highest level of customer services at all times and drive the strategy behind bringing vibrant activity into all rooms and event spaces to each of our Milwaukee properties.

    **Other Essential Duties and Responsibilities:**

    Account prospecting, solicitation, and development

    Conduct hotel site inspections, entertain both in house and off property, and maintain thorough follow up methods

    Prepare and present proposals and contracts both written and verbal in a prompt, accurate, profitable, pleasant and professional manner

    Perform administrative or event support functions when necessary to support the team approach

    Assist in strategic planning, goal setting, and other departmental activities

    Handle account details and coordinate final arrangements with Convention Services department

    Represent all Milwaukee area hotels at trade shows, civic/business functions, industry-related associations, and other events to promote the hotel and/or the city

    **JOB REQUIREMENTS:**

    High school diploma or equivalent required, Four-year college degree preferred, however, any combination of education and training within hotel sales and/or event planning may also be considered.

    Excellent communication skills

    Basic mathematical skills that allow for calculation of room blocks, average rates, and forecast information.

    Ability to travel.

    Flexibility to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.

    Ability to work independently while accepting ongoing training and supervision.

    Strong willingness to learn the designated market(s)
