    Production Coordinator

    ABOUT NEW YORK CARES

New York Cares exists to turn passion into action, leverage resources through partnership, and create long-lasting change across New York City. We've become the City's leading volunteer management organization by adapting and responding to our most pressing community needs – from everyday challenges like food insecurity and educational inequity to relief efforts in response to 9/11 and the COVID-19 pandemic. As we grow our team, we are committed to creating a workforce that reflects the communities we serve, and fostering a workplace where every employee feels valued, finds a place of belonging, and brings their authentic self to work.

    ABOUT THE PRODUCTION COORDINATOR

Step into the role of Production Coordinator at New York Cares, where events are more than just gatherings — they're powerful community touchpoints. Whether it's guiding a reading session for eager young minds or breathing life into a local park, you'll be the catalyst. It's a role that demands both precision and heart: collaborating with our community partners, empowering volunteers, and ensuring every detail is set for success. With each event, you'll not only be showcasing the spirit of New York Cares but also amplifying our commitment to the community. Dive in, and together, let's craft experiences that resonate and inspire.

    In This Role You Will

    • Manage volunteer events for up to 100 attendees, ensuring a seamless alignment with their original design and objectives.
    • Lead and guide corporate volunteer projects on-site, providing direction and managing day-to-day tasks.
    • Implement superior volunteer management practices, anticipating and addressing challenges as they arise.
    • Identify key event elements and influencing factors through site visits and discussions with nonprofit partners.
    • Serve as the central liaison for corporate volunteer projects, fostering trust and effective communication.
    • Engage in detailed project overview calls, fostering collaboration between nonprofits, volunteer leaders, and corporate sponsors.
    • Analyze and translate event requirements into actionable tasks, forwarding purchase orders and supply details to the Event Operations team for smooth execution.

    Required Qualifications

    • Deep understanding and empathy for the social nuances, practices, and worldviews of people of diverse backgrounds, identities, and cultures.
    • Ongoing dedication to understanding the social and racial justice challenges confronting the communities served by New York Cares.
    • Demonstrated understanding of event logistics management, budgeting and vendor management best practices.
    • Ability to apply strategic judgment, reassess and pivot in the face of unpredictable circumstances.
    • Ability to foster genuine connections with a broad spectrum of stakeholders and understand their unique perspectives and needs.
    • Demonstrated skill in breaking down overarching strategies into actionable tasks for clear and efficient execution.
    • Demonstrated ability to cultivate strong relationships with community and corporate partners, understand their event preferences, collect feedback, and customize event offerings to meet their needs.
    • Evidenced ability to facilitate engaging discussions that encourage participation, collaboration, and innovation.
    Compensation

The salary range is $ 58k - $61K and is commensurate with experience.

Salary is just one component of New York Cares' total compensation package. We offer generous paid leave, including a winter holiday break, self-care days, and summer Fridays; comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage; access to a suite of e-learning courses; tax advantage accounts including a 403b Thrift Plan, FSA, and much more.

New York Cares is proud to be an Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action employer. We are deeply committed to building a workplace where diversity, equity, and inclusion are valued and prioritized. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, family status, marital status, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, age, veteran status, or any other non-merit-based or legally protected grounds.
