Summary
As a
Product Development Coordinator at FOODMatch, your role is pivotal in shaping our unique Mediterranean product line. Your responsibilities include new recipe creation, supplier engagement, and managing development projects from concept to full-scale production. Will work cross-functionally with Marketing, Sales, Finance, Operations, Quality, Purchasing, and Regulatory Team on a frequent basis.


Essential Functions

  • Innovate and create new recipes that align with our brand's identity. Achieve quarterly goals by commercializing these recipes effectively.
  • Investigate and collect essential details for each project, including basic info and pricing, fostering a foundation for successful product development.
  • Engage with existing suppliers and identify new ones. Ensure the sourcing of quality ingredients by testing new components and processes.
  • Maintain an uptodate database, ensuring that all approved new product samples are tracked, monitored, and organized efficiently.
  • Contribute to new idea generation and prototype development, sharing your innovative suggestions and insights.
  • Collaborate effectively with customers to understand their needs and requests.
  • Conduct measurements and statistical analysis for different and new trends in the market.

Skills Required:


  • Knowledge of foods pairing/recipe development.
  • Knowledge of culinary trends.
  • Ability to be innovative and creative yet practical.
  • Good understanding of other cultures or other languages is a plus.
  • Culinary experience is a plus.

Qualifications

  • B.A./B.S degree in food/agricultural science/nutrition.
  • Professional experience in the field of food/ natural science.
  • Strategic thinking and problemsolving abilities.
  • Basic knowledge of purchasing and logistics.
  • Strong understanding of market dynamics and customer needs.
  • Comfortable working on a daily basis with foreign suppliers.
  • Passion for food and/or cooking.
  • Adept at Microsoft Office and Outlook and confident in ability to learn new computer programs.
  • Basic knowledge of FDA and the Food Safety Modernization Act.

Location/Travel Requirements

  • This role is a hybrid role (3x in office/2x days remote) based out of the New York office.
